Computer and Device Support

We understand that computers in the workplace are tools, and therefore must be operational at all times. We provide a fast and professional onsite response that deal with workplace system failures. Below are some notes on common service questions.

Windows and Applications vista

Windows can fail due to program application conflicts, hardware problems, and user action. We support a wide variety of Windows versions, a list of which can be found here. Apple Mac support can be found here.

Desktop computers and Work Stations

desktoppc

My iT Support repair and service all make and models of computers and associated hardware. This includes troubleshooting graphics, power supplies, performance, memory, hard drives and other hardware associated issues. Should it be necessary, most computer parts today are inexpensive to replace

Serversserver

My iT Support repair and service all make and models of servers. Servers are different to desktop computers in that they carry specialised components such as EEC memory, high speed SCSI hard drives, power supplies and big end cooling systems. We also service Windows Server operating systems from Windows NT4/2000 to 2008. Note however, that we have chosen do not service Linux or Apple based server platforms at this time

Laptops and Netbooks

laptop

Most laptop problems that are Windows related only can be serviced onsite. Some hardware issues however require a 'sterile' workplace environment where they can be disassembled and inspected without the risk of potentially damaging dust and particles entering the case. In this situation, laptops are collected and removed offsite for servicing.

Mobile Phone, PDA's, Blackberry, etc

pda

We setup and support Mobile phone, Blackberry and PDA units, which is in growing demand. However, we do not service physically damaged units. You are best contacting the authorised service centres of your brand. You can normally find the service agents listed on the web site's of the manufacturer or the telco-service provider if they supplied the unit.

Big end Copiers and Printers

printer

If you operate a large stand alone Network printer/copier such as the one depicted and are having serious difficulties, is often best to contact the vendor or authorised service centres directly. They can be expensive, but because there are so many differing types and models, each with their own idiosyncrasies, it is generally a more viable option.

Small Printer, Multifunction and Scanners

If printing/scanning is a software or network problem, and it usually is, we can help. We can troubleshoot all makes and models out there on the market, provided the manufacturer has the resources online as required. Electro-mechanical for devices under $500 are generally impractical to repair,

Monitors

monitor

The repair of monitors is again a cost benefit ratio, and it is rare that a monitor would be worth repairing in a typical office scenario. However some specialised organisations use big end LCD and CRT monitors that are economical to repair and if this is the case we can organise a specialist repair technicians for you. Contact us directly if you have monitor issues that you feel may fall into this category

Apple Computers

apple

Apples are not mainstream in small business, but if you operate them, we have a service agent that we can connect you too. Our agent repairs and services all levels of Apple desktops and associated products including AIR technology. Apple-macs are growing in popularity due in no small part to the failings of Windows Vista three years ago and we expect them to become more visible within business networks in the future.

Linux Computers

Unfortunately, due to their numerous version releases and non-standard applications, we have decided that it is impractical to support Linux based computers at this time. We also think the duck looks ridiculous.
